Michael J. Lanning (Atlanta) – Managing Director & Chairman             

  • Author, consultant, lecturer, and founder of The DPV Group

Helmut Meixner (Cincinnati) – Senior Director

Jim Tyrone (Ashburn, Va) – Senior DirectorJCT Pic

  • Jim recently joined DPV Group as a Director, with great experience and capabilities in commercially-oriented general management & consulting
  • 35 years in chemicals, consulting & paper; ran several businesses, turning around two large paper ones. Ran Sales & Marketing organizations, consistently outperforming the market in revenue & margin growth
  • Strategic thinker/leader with practical, commercial focus; is consistently cited by employees as an exceptional leader, helping them develop
  • Jim has a BS in Chemical Engineering (UVA) & MBA (Harvard); after 4 years Quality Control in Chemicals for Hercules, he consulted in a variety of industries for 7 years at McKinsey, where he worked closely with Michael Lanning, including while Mike was first developing the Value Proposition and related Value-Delivery concepts.
  • Jim has long had a deep understanding and appreciation for the DPV concepts and approach; and in the past 15 years as a senior leader he periodically engaged DPVG for strategy & business projects.

  • After McKinsey, at Mead & MeadWestvaco he was President, Fine Paper Division & VP/SVP Sales & Marketing, then for NewPage Corporation he was SVP Sales & Marketing, & was EVP Commercial Operations and Business Development, NewPage.
  • Jim most recently served as Senior Vice President, Appvion (previously Appleton Papers)––makers of specialty coated paper and micro-encapsulation. At Appleton Jim tripled annual EDITDA for the Thermal Paper segment, driven by >15% pa sales growth; before that, at NewPage he produced growth of 3% in an industry declining -4%. Some of his NewPage success was supported by working closely with DPVG to bolster current-business strategy & successfully explore & then develop new technology with major sustainability advantages.

Miller L. Macmillan (Destin, Florida) – Senior Consultant

  • 34 years’ experience in Package Design for Procter & Gamble; retired in 2002 as Global Design Director, Fabric & Home Care Products
  • In recent years, created and designed equity graphics and packages for several international and regional consumer goods firms
